Satyam BPO wins Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award

First Indian BPO to win country’s premier recognition for quality

Hyderabad (India), February 15, 2007: Satyam BPO Ltd., Satyam’s BPO subsidiary and the world’s first eSCM capability level 4 service provider, has become the first Indian Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company to win the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award (RGNQA). The award is the highest recognition Indian companies can receive for quality and organizational excellence. Satyam BPO was honored for its work in the “Large-Scale Service Industry” category in 2006.

The Bureau of Indian Standards instituted the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award in 1991 to recognize leaders in the country-wide movement toward exceptional quality. The honor is on par with the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award for companies in the United States, the Deming Prize for Japanese organizations, and the European Quality Award.

The Bureau considered the following ten parameters when assessing Satyam BPO’s delivery center here: leadership, policies, objectives and strategies, human resource management, resources, processes, customer-focused results, employee satisfaction, impact on environment and society, and business results.

Satyam BPO has been honored for its process excellence by other organizations, too. Recently, the IT Services Qualification Center (ITsqc) at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh recognized the organization as the world’s first eSCM capability level 4 service provider.
