Satyam Computer Services has been selected as a finalist for
Microsoft Corp.’s Partner of the Year Award in Citizenship. Winners
for the 2007 Microsoft Partner Program Awards, which recognize
top Microsoft Partners delivering market-leading, Microsoft-based
solutions, will be announced July 11 in Denver, Colorado at the
Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.
The Awards will be presented in a number of categories, with
winners chosen from a pool of more than 1,800 entrants worldwide.
The Citizenship Partner of the Year award recognizes exceptional
partners that have made a sustained commitment to society and
their communities and can demonstrate the impact of their work.
The winning partner may work with a nonprofit in an innovative
way to empower underserved communities by giving access to
technology or technology skills training, and will have made
a unique and positive impact in making the knowledge economy
more accessible.
Satyam’s nominated solution is “Emergency Management & Research
Institute”(EMRI), which is the emergency response system
formed to ensure the safety of Indian citizens. It was formed
by the Raju brothers as a not-for-profit entity to provide
not only emergency management, but also to conduct research
related to emergencies and provide various training programs.
EMRI wanted to create an end-to-end system that would automate
all the activities of a call center, such as reaching the emergency,
ambulance tracking, and monitoring the patient care process.
EMRI, along with its technology partner, Satyam, created an
emergency response system using Microsoft® .NET.
“We have a diverse and talented partner ecosystem that
each year raises the bar in the design and deployment of customer
solutions built on Microsoft technologies,”said Allison
L. Watson, corporate vice president, Microsoft Worldwide Partner
Group. “We are pleased to recognize Satyam Computer Services
as one of our partners leading the field in this category.”
The Microsoft Partner Program Awards recognize Microsoft Partners
that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based
solutions over the past year.
