Raju is the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007

B Ramalinga Raju, founder and chairman of Satyam, has been named as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. Raju is among the 10 entrepreneurs who have been chosen for awards across various categories by the audit and consulting firm, Ernst & Young.
A jury headed by ICICI chairman K. V. Kamath picked up Raju for the prestigious award. About 400 top industrialists and leading corporate personalities participated in the event, which is the only global business award programme in India.
The award is in recognition of Raju’s efforts not only to build a best-in-class business that is making its mark on the global platform, but also for taking innovative steps to positively impact the society. “If we can learn to make ordinary people do extraordinary things, then it goes without saying, more significant things happen, and change comes about very quickly,” Raju said reflecting on the award.
Raju will represent India at the E&Y World Entrepreneur of the Year award at Monte Carlo, scheduled to be held in May 2008.
