1. Where will my internship get realized? What does the initial agenda looks like?
All the internships will be first realized in the city that you will be based out of for the whole duration. For example, those (according to their profiles) required to report to other cities apart from Hyderabad (Headquarters), will have to apply for visas indicating their city of internship (Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune  or Bangalore) clearly before going to the embassy. Upon arrival in India, the intern will be required to land in these cities or fly directly to the city concerned.

2. Where will I stay in India? How much time will it take to reach the office everyday?
All interns have to stay in their respective cities and commute to work from the house where they live in. Depending on the traffic and location of stay, it might take anything between 15 - 45 minutes to reach office.

3. How is my stay going to be in India?
India is a very diverse country with lot of traditions, rich culture and heritage. The lifestyles and the surroundings are quite different in India. However, this will be part of the experience you gain here.
An experience which would make you come out of your comfort zones and put yourself in a completely aligned environment. But it is very easy to get everything going for you and you can make things happen.

4. Will someone be there to pick me up at the airport?
Your reception (Airport pick-up, and stay at one of the AIESECer's house) will be taken care of when you arrive here. Make sure that you send your arrival details at least two weeks in advance in the format that was mailed to you in an excel sheet. Make sure you attach a copy of your current passport with it so that it becomes easier for AIESEC members to spot you, while sending your arrival details to X_Overs@Mahindra Satyam.com

5. Which city will the internship take place post-induction?
The company has its headquarters in Hyderabad but it also has offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Pune etc. Your induction in the company will take place at the location that you will be required to report to. In case you are required to undergo any other training in the Mahindra Satyam Technical Institute (STC), Hyderabad,   you will be informed about the same in advance. Your accommodation will also be arranged beforehand in such a case.

6. Where will I stay and what will be the living conditions?
AIESEC will arrange for a flat for all the trainees. With respect to the flats, do not always expect an Air-Conditioner as all the LCs can't afford buying ACs for the houses. However, they will take care of the minimum comforts such as bed, shower, bathrooms, helping you with maids (to clean the house), curtains, refrigerator, cooking vessels, kitchen, gas cylinder and stove fans etc. Do not expect to stay in a big bungalow or a plot. These are usually good flats in the society that AIESEC hires for our interns.

7. What is the cost of living in India?
The cost of living usually varies from city to city. On an average, an intern would need around Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 12,000 (around 250 US $ - 300 US $) to economically. This is usually what is paid by different local companies at the LC level. So, with regards to the salary, it should be sufficient as you will be receiving Rs. 22,000 per month before tax deduction. The house rent is about INR 3200-4000 depending on location. An extra INR 500-600 is needed towards maintenance and shared commodities.

8. What vaccinations should I take before coming to India?
With regards to the vaccinations, plan ahead for getting your vaccinations. Some of them require more than one injection, while some vaccinations should not be given together. It is recommended you seek medical advice at least six weeks before your departure. Record all vaccinations on an International Health Certificate, available from your doctor or government health department, and carry it with you. According to most countries it is required that you carry your Yellow Fever Certificate with you.  Please note that not having such a certificate from what country you come from, could be a violation of the Law. It is always advisable to carry a mosquito net and mosquito repellent with you even though available in India too as Malaria is very prevalent in many cities in India. Some of the vaccinations you to consider include: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Typhoid.

9. My travel insurance will expire soon after I come to India. Can I get medical/health insurance in India? Will Mahindra Satyam cover my medical/health insurance?
With respect to the insurance, Mahindra Satyam will not cover the medical/health insurance for the interns in India; it’s against their policies/rather not provided in their policies. But if in case you need one, you can negotiate with any one of the health insurance providers for a good deal by calling  24444444(Just Dial service) and asking for an insurance agent’s number of Bajaj Allianz Insurance Company.

10. Who will be contact person for us once the internship is realized?

Send a two-minute video of yours to X_Overs@Mahindra Satyam.com. Mahindra Satyam would need this for their documentation as well.  You just need to speak about yourself in that video (about yourself, your interests etc.). If you wish you can also include why you are looking forward for this internship. Make it a small video of just two minutes and send it via mail to X_Overs@Mahindra Satyam.com . Alternately, you can upload the video on rapidshare.com (preferably) and mail us the link.
In addition to the video, you were also asked to get your education certificates (primary school, secondary school, higher secondary, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or any other degree) and also certificates of your previous work experience. Please bring photocopies of the same so that you can submit them during your joining formalities at Mahindra Satyam.
We sincerely hope that the details mentioned in your CV match the certificates and there is no flaw anywhere in the whole process.

13. When and to whom should I send my arrival details?
Please find attached the pre-arrival document which needs to be filled by you and sent to us as soon as you book the tickets. For those landing Hyderabad, there is the opening of the new Airport in Hyderabad if you are going to land there, please us know by sending an email to X_Overs@Mahindra Satyam.com at the earliest so that the necessary arrangements are made. Should you require the services of a phone, not more that INR 20 rupees should be spent for less than 10 minutes and once you get to the airport you can at most change only 50 dollars so that you don’t end up spending much? However to avoid all this, we suggest that before leaving your country, have your cell phone activated for roaming services so that when you arrive in India have it still remains active, thereby making it easier to communicate with you.
Those who are yet to send their SN ANs, please send the same at the earliest so that we can revert to you after getting it signed by the company.
We would request you to mention the earliest starting date that you can make it possible to come to India and the ending date as one year after the starting date.

14. Is it necessary for me to get a residential permit to stay in India?
After arriving in India, you will require a residential permit for a one-year visa. All visas valid for more than six months, need to get registered at Foreign Residents Registration Office(FRRO) within 14 days after arrival, post which you will get a residential permit for a year issued by the FRRO. The documents required are: photocopies of your VISA, passport, passport size-photographs, undertaking letter, proof of residence in India, offer/contract letter and the invitation letter.

Besides, we assume you all would need an invitation letter to obtain your VISA. Please mail us your following details in the mail while sending your SN AN.

Full Name (as on Passport):
Date of Birth:
Place of Birth:
Nationality:
Passport No.:
Gender:
Starting Date of the Internship:

We will prepare invitation letters based on this info and get them signed, stamped, scanned by Mahindra Satyam (on the company's letter-head) and will mail you the soft copy of the same.

We urge you all to find the Indian embassy in your respective countries and find out if there are any other formalities that need to be taken care of. Also ask your AIESEC representatives (preferably VP OGX) who would know about VISA procedures to India. We would not want to have sudden challenges when you apply for VISA.

We hope this information really helps you. You can also surf www.incredibleindia.org for more information on India.
